tired, tired and more tired

Today started off so promising…

a 7 mile run at 6am.  The weather was overcast and cool–perfect running conditions.

But 2 miles in, uh-oh, GI trouble (skip ahead, TMI).  I think three days of avocados got the best of me.  I finished the 7 miles, but with 3 more pit stops.  Thank goodness for random construction porta-johns and the train station.

Today at work we had our flagship fundraiser.  The day was decidedly overcast and cool.  But not cool enough to put a damper on the A/C in the event venue.  Now, 11 hours later, I am frozen to the bone, and I’m going to vent.

WE DON’T NEED AIR CONDITIONING WHEN IT’S COOL OUTSIDE.  MAYBE JUST A DEHUMIDIFIER WILL DO THE TRICK? OR GO AHEAD, PUT ON THE A/C, BUT NOT SET TO 60F.

I am growing more and more curmudgeon-like regarding A/C use.  I hate that building management can’t actually adjust temperatures to reflect the reality of the weather.  Yes, when it’s 80 and 90 degrees and a kajillion percent humidity, the A/C comes in handy.  But not when it’s 65 with no humidity.

I had a much more pleasant post planned.  Tomorrow I’m heading up to Maine for my college reunion (25th!!).  Of course, there’s a tropical storm that will dampen the environs, but not my spirit.  There’s a 5K trail run scheduled, but given the storm, I’m not sure if that will be happening.  And as my college was up in Maine, there will be plenty of lobster to be had.

Juneathon deets:

  • Day 6 mileage: 7
  • total mileage: 23

Hopefully my GI track reacts better to the lobster then the avocados.
