High notes

The 4th day of Janathon finished on a high note: a trip into NYC with Thing 1 for his birthday gift: The Book of Mormon.  He’d been talking about how much he wanted to see the show for awhile, so it seemed an appropriate gift.  Given that he shares a birthday with Christmas, it was nice to do something that doesn’t get all mixed up with the holiday.  And I just love that Thing 1 enjoys musical theater. If I had my druthers, people would be required to randomly break out in song periodically throughout the day. But alas, that never happens. Oh, and the show was pretty fantastic, too.

The 4th day of Janathon also started on a high note: a running club hosted run.  I love these runs–either Sat or Sun on weekends in Dec, Jan, and Feb different club members offer to host a 3-6 mile run from their homes, and then serve breakfast.  (we do the same in the summer, but instead on Wed or Thurs nights, and the meal served is bbq). I enjoy the social atmosphere, and the chance to run new routes in different towns. Today rain threatened, but held off, and a small group and I headed out slightly earlier to squeeze in 8-10 miles. I did 8.5.  Oh, and breakfast was pretty fantastic, too.

All in all, a nice first week to Janathon.
